FarMart, India’s leading food supply platform serving Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The company has quietly scaled to become India’s largest AgriFood output platform across its farm, processed, and private label business. This success has not come by accumulating warehouses or transport fleets but by embedding artificial intelligence (AI) at the core of its business operations

Today, FarMart connects over 3.8 million farmers and 1,100 food-processing units to 3,000 institutional buyers across India, the Middle East, and Africa. With an AI-powered, just-in-time fulfillment model, the company enables seamless and high-speed AgriFood-commerce without holding a single unit of inventory.

"With focused execution and the integration of AI into our business, FarMart has strengthened its position as a clear category leader in the output industry. We are steadily progressing toward becoming one of the most important companies of our era to deliver food safety for the country" said Alekh Sanghera, CEO & Co-Founder, FarMart

This lean, AI-powered approach has helped FarMart not only grow rapidly but also achieve category-leading capital efficiency and profitability. FarMart capital efficiency & revenue to employee metrics are nearly six times better than those of more heavily funded peers such as NinjaCart, DeHaat, and WayCool. This makes FarMart one of the most scalable and resilient businesses in the AgriFood space.

Serving the institutional backbone of AgriFood demand using AI

A key pillar of FarMart’s success has been its adoption by institutional customers. These large, stable, and recurring demand channels power much of the AgriFood chain. Today, over 85 percent of FarMart’s revenue comes from businesses in sectors such as FMCG, BioFuels, AlcoBev, and Animal Nutrition.

By using AI to match these enterprise buyers with high-quality and consistent farm & processed supply, FarMart has become a reliable supply chain partner which is enabling them to scale up their business sustainably.

Institutional demand brings greater predictability. It allows the platform to plan more accurately, reduce volatility, and ensure smoother movement of goods. This focus on high-value demand has enabled FarMart to grow sustainably, even in uncertain macroeconomic conditions.

AI Agents: The Future of Market Linkage

FarMart is extending its AI capabilities to the field level through a new AI Agentic model for market linkage, which is currently in beta with early adopters.

This conversational tool serves as a real-time intelligence layer for farmers, processors, and buyers. It performs actionable tasks on market trends, pricing dynamics, shipment tracking, business accounting, and potential buyer leads, all through natural language. In essence, it functions as a smart, always-on assistant that simplifies and enhances market linkage decisions.

Initial traction has been strong. Users report improved decision-making and a reduced reliance on manual brokers or delayed information updates. The company plans to publicly launch the AI product by the end of this year, with support for regional languages and voice-first features.

By combining this AI agent with its backend orchestration systems, FarMart is creating a fully intelligent supply chain that connects farms, factories, and customers in real time.

Redefining what scale looks like

In an industry where scale often comes at the cost of margin, agility, or capital efficiency, FarMart is proving that an AI-first approach can deliver both growth and profitability. It is not just about moving large volumes of goods. It is about reshaping how the industry works.

FarMart’s journey reflects a broader transformation underway that Indian Agriculture has long needed. The sector is shifting from asset-heavy and manual models to platforms built on intelligence rather than infrastructure.

As FarMart prepares to introduce its AI agent in new markets and expand its international presence, it is steadily evolving beyond a traditional AgriFood platform. The company is use of AI to improve how food supply chains operate, by making them more personalised, responsive, and better suited to today’s needs.
