Hosting a Virtual Summit Appealed Indian MSMEs To Go Global

Sharing is caring!, B2B e-commerce platform of Alibaba Group, hosted an online summit titled “Go Global 2020 – Make in India, Sell Globally” for micro, small & medium enterprises (MSMEs) in India seeking to weather the current global downturn induced by the Covid-19 pandemic and at the same time to develop a long term sustainable business model.

At the summit, showcased 4 customized membership packages for Indian MSMEs and unveiled a suite of digital solutions including AI-powered tools that would enable them to connect with global buyers effectively. More than 2,200 export-focused businesses from across India attended this summit.

Speakers from included, Stephen Kuo, Head of Asia Pacific; Charles Rogers, Lead Researcher of North America; Grace He, Sales Strategy Manager; and Deepak Sarda, Seller Service Manager. They covered a breadth of topics including seizing global opportunities, what global buyers want from India, and how the platform is enabling local suppliers, and introduced new products and pricing plans. In addition, two local sellers, Jignesh Kotaditya, Managing Director of Nutricore Biosciences, and Amit Jain, Partner of United Export Consortium shared about their journey on the platform and how it has helped them expand their business successfully.

Through various ‘Value Added Service Solutions’ available on platform, suppliers can set up their business online quickly with support for product posting, creation of online store and verification services.

Insights from showcase that 65% of Indian sellers on the platform have no exporting experience while 32% of incoming sellers have no international e-commerce experience. In light of this, conducts regular training programs that can empower our sellers and help them go through these special circumstances.

Jignesh Kotaditya, Managing Director of Nutricore Biosciences, a manufacturer of health supplements, shared on how they have managed to reach authentic buyers through and export to over 15 countries today. They pivoted their business during this Covid-19 crisis and focussed on immunity building products that found global buyers. Amit Jain, Partner of United Export Consortium shared how their business based in Solapur has buyers from close to 32 countries thanks to the platform.
