CICU in association with the Ministry of MSME and PHD Chamber IP Facilitation Centre, Amritsar organised an “Interactive Session on Leveraging Intellectual Property Rights for MSMEs.
During the occasion, U S Ahuja, President, CICU Ludhiana & CMD,New Swan Group mentioned that in this competitive world, Entrepreneurs & Business fraternity need to understand the importance of filing IP to protect their business ideas.
“Well protected IP can help position the business as a leader in the marketplace and increase revenues,” added Ahuja.
The main objective of this program to educate MSMEs on the Benefits of registering Intellectual Property and how to encash IPR for Competitive advantage.
Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary, CICU Ludhiana mentioned that protecting Innovations is very important and should be encouraged for the long term success of the business.
Speaking on the occasion, R K Parmar, Deputy Director, MSME DI-Ludhiana, Ministry of MSME, Government of India apprised participants about the various Government Schemes for IPR promotion. He advised entrepreneurs to approach PHDCCI’s IPFC Centres in Amritsar and Chandigarh for IPR related information and services.
Addressing the participants, Dr. J.K Sharma, Convener, IPFC Steering Committee, PHDCCI & Director – Research, Industry Interface & Innovation, CT University informed that to help MSMEs and Startups in the region, PHDCCI has set up an IP Facilitation Centre at Amritsar under the aegis of Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (M/o MSME), Government of India and is providing all IP related services like Trademarks, Patents, Copyrights, Designs and Geographical Indication, etc. to Industry members.
He also made detailed presentation and apprised Industry members of the various services provided by the Centre.
Thanking the Eminent speakers and participants, S B Singh, Convener-MSME Committee, Punjab State Chapter, PHDCCI & CEO, Taaran Industries, Ludhiana mentioned that today’s session is first in the series with CICU Ludhiana, will organize several such sessions and training programmes to deliver indepth knowledge on Intellectual Property laws.
He also moderated the session and posed insightful questions during the programme.
Around 70 Industry members from Ludhiana attended and benefited from the programme, some namely by J.S Bhogal, Publicity Secretary, Satinderjit Singh Autom, Gautam Malhotra, Sanjay Dhiman, M.P Singh from Hindon Metaforms Pvt Ltd and other prominent member attended the program.
