Delhi Budget 2020-21: Delhi Govt Allocates Rs 50 Crore to Deal With Coronavirus

During the budget presentation, Delhi Deputy CM and Finance Minister Manish Sisodia said the Delhi government has earmarked Rs 50 crore in the state budget 2020-21 to deal with the coronavirus.

Amid a lockdown in the national capital to prevent the spread of coronavirus, Delhi government on Monday presented its budget in the Assembly. During the budget presentation, Delhi Deputy CM and Finance Minister Manish Sisodia said the Delhi government has earmarked Rs 50 crore in the state budget 2020-21 to deal with the coronavirus.

During the budget presentation, Sisodia said that the government will convert four depots into multi-storeyed buildings to accommodate more buses as there is issue with land and space.

Saying that the Delhi government will introduce ‘Delhi Darshan Scheme’, he said Rs 10 crore will be provided for the purpose. “Delhi government to give Rs 100 crore for ‘Mukhyamantri Teerth Yojana Scheme’ in next financial year,” he added.

Apart from providing Rs 193 crore to redesign city roads, Sisodia said the government will allocate Rs 1,700 crore for basic facilities in unauthorised colonies.

Talking about free bus rides for women, he said the facility will continue in next financial year.
