NEW DELHI: Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MoMSME) is all set to start the construction of three new Technology Centres in the country.
The Centres would come up at Kanpur, Bhopal and Imphal.
In this context, the Development Commissioner (MSME), Ministry of MSME, Government of India has invited bids for the Construction Work of the Technology Centres.
Meanwhile, in order to increase business opportunities for MSMEs through new market linkages and enhance competitiveness of the cluster business environment, Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME) is in the process of upgrading and expanding the network of Technology Centres (TCs) - also referred to as Tool Rooms & Technology Development Centres.
The Ministry is upgrading existing TCs and establishing 15 New TCs at a total Project cost of Rs 2,200 crores including World Bank funding of USD 200 million under the Technology Centre Systems Programme (TCSP).
The TCs will be located in various parts of the country to cater to the needs of micro, small & medium enterprises through access to technology, skill development, consultancy etc.
The Government of India was also in the process to appoint a consulting firm as a Technology and Cluster Manager (TCM) for providing services to improve competitiveness of the TCs and MSMEs.
