Customs Office to Resume Services from April 20th

The Office Order has directed all the offers and staff members of all the Commissionerates functioning from New Customs house/ IGIA to attend the office with effect from April 20, 2020 maintaining social distancing.

The Custom Offices will remain open without any restriction with effect from April 20, 2020. In an office order, SN Ojha, Deputy Commissioner (Candre Control) Airport & General Commissionerate said as per the revised guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs “all the Customs offices shall remain open without any restriction with effect from 20th April 2020.”

The Office Order has directed all the offers and staff members of all the Commissionerates functioning from New Customs house/ IGIA to attend the office with effect from April 20, 2020 maintaining social distancing.

The Assistants and Deputy Commissioners of these Commissionerates have also been directed to ensure presence of the staffs in their respective sections for unhampered functioning of the office.

The Commissionerates have also been asked to ensure social distancing are followed in their offices.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced extension in the on-going lockdown due to Coronavirus pandemic until 3rd May 2020. The decision was taken by the Modi Government keeping in mind the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in India.

However, the Lockdown 2.0 being imposed by the central government will have few relaxations for some sectors from 20th April 2020 onwards. In line with this MHA had issued fresh guidelines for extended lockdown period.
