On the occasion of World Youth Skill Day, CREDAI announced the launch of skill training of over 2500 construction in 20 new Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across India. These skill trainings will be conducted under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY) 2.0 and PNB Housing Finance Limited (PNBHFL) program under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
On this occasion, CREDAI also announced the launch of its first Mobile App to link offsite skill trainings and placements. The app will have credible and authentic data related to offsite skill trainings and placement accessible to both the trainees and developers to increase avenues for youth employment. It will include the details of ongoing and upcoming trainings across India. CREDAI has operational offsite skill training centers in Nashik, Bhiwadi, Silchar, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Assam, Ranchi and Maldah. We also proposed to set up such centers in Odisha, Jharkhand, Gulbarga, Dahod, Chhattisgarh and Bihar soon.

CREDAI forayed in Skilling with its training program ‘’Kushal’’ in 2011 through its Pune Chapter in collaboration with NSDC. Since then, CREDAI is conducting regular on-site training programs for construction workers at construction sites through its member developers spread across 23 states and 171 city chapters. Aimed at enhancing the quality of life of these workers, the trainings are a mix of ‘Classroom’ & ‘On-the-job training’ conducted at construction sites for a period of 4 weeks. CREDAI has so far trained more than 50,000 trainees in over 150 construction sites across 35 cities under PMKVY, RPL, Bridge RPL and special projects. We aim to undertake Skilling for at least 1 lac construction workers during 2017-19.
CREDAI also inaugurated its first Mobile Skill Classroom in Nashik. The Mobile Skill Classroom is equipped with all the necessary tools and equipment required for training in the 6 skill sets including Masonry, Brick Laying, Shuttering & Carpentry, Plumbing, Painting and Electrician. The trainees will be imparted skill training through visual technology making it more interactive and holistic. It is an innovative addition to the outreach initiative of CREDAI for Skill Training Program.
CREDAI felicitated the trainees of the World Skills Competition 2017, Rahim Momin came 2nd in Bricklaying and Shailendra Chauhan came 3rd in Wall and Floor Tiling at the Denmark Skill Competition held at their Natuinal Technical Institute, part of the Herning Holm Training Summer Camp. Both are currently being trained and mentored under the aegis of CREDAI Kushal for the upcoming World Skills Competition due to be held in October 2017 in Abu Dhabi at a special training institute set up by CREDAI at the Truspace Site Prima Domus in Pune.
