May 20th will be Celebrated As Annual Day of Competition Commission of India

Competition Commission of India (CCI) will organise the Annual Day celebration on Thursday i.e May 20th, 2021 via virtual mode.

Inaugural Ceremony will commence at 2:45 PM and will be followed by a Half Day workshop having two plenary sessions of 75 minutes each till 6:30 PM on the issues of Competition Law.

According to CCI, the Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman will be the Chief Guest in the inaugural session. Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs will be the Guest of Honour. The conference will inter alia, be attended by Secretaries, officers from Government, representatives from Judiciary, Sr. Advocates, Lawyers, Economists and Academia.

Competition Commission of India (CCI/Commission) has been established under the Competition Act, 2002 (Act) to prevent practices having adverse effect on competition, to promote and sustain competition in markets, to protect the interests of consumers and to ensure freedom of trade, in markets in India.
