Jet Airways Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer Amit Agrawal has resigned with immediate effect due to personal reasons. The airline said that Agarwal’s resignation is effective from May 13. In a regulatory filing, Jet Airways said, “We wish to inform that Amit Agarwal, the deputy chief executive officer and CFO of the company, has resigned from service due to personal reasons, with effect from May 13.”
Earlier this month, the airline’s ex-chairman Naresh Goyal had penned an emotional letter to employees stating that he has made all possible sacrifices to keep the airline afloat. Goyal added that the employees of the airline have also made nobler and bigger sacrifices for the company.
The ex-Chairman also expressed hope that the bank-led resolution plan will succeed and that a successful bidder will emerge by May 10. “Neeta and I are anxiously hoping that there will be a positive outcome on the 10th of May 2019 as per the BLRP deadline…It is our dearest wish, like yours, to witness the blazing sun reappear from behind the dark clouds of the past weeks, on a canvas of never-ending blue,” read the ex-chairman’s message to Jet employees.
