Government is committed to ensure growth of trade & commerce in Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) and will take all measures to make the state an attractive destination for rest of the trade & Industry in the Country to focus towards J&K for better business opportunities, said Piyush Goyal, Union Minister for Commerce & Industry.
He made the above remarks while interacting with the delegation of Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) and Chamber of Traders Federation (CTF).
Both the federations made Piyush Goyal and Dr. Jitender Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) aware about current trade situation and how it can be eased further in J&K & Ladakh .
CAIT said that traders of rest of India now sees bigger business opportunities in J& K and Ladakh but surely need supportive policies of the Government to make J&K one of the best trading hub of the Country. It will also give enough opportunity to traders of J&K to grow their business in rest of India.
Both the federations suggested that in order to bring congenial business environment in J&K, Trade Coordination Committees in state may be constituted since traders enjoy trust of all sections of society and can bridge all differences.
Being apple season in Kashmir, bringing perishable fruits to markets of Jammu is of paramount importance. Jammu being hub, having cold storages and well aligned transportation system, perishables can be sent to all important markets across India thus saving thousands of crores of commodities from getting wasted, suggested federation.
While talking to delegation, Singh said that now there will be no discrimination in any region of J& K or Ladakh and equal opportunities and benefits of Government schemes to one and all.
He also said that the Government is committed to restore paradise on earth status of J&K and will ensure that trade & commerce should get a boost which will boast economy of J&K.
He further added that Government has plans to set up state of the art facilities of different sectors in J&K.
Traders have to play a major role in reviving the economy of J&K and sought cooperation of trading community, he added.
