Chambal Fertilizers Shows Decline in Profit

Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals ltd standalone revenue for the quarter came in at Rs. 1072.8 crore, registering 23.6% yoy decline. This was primarily driven by  decline in revenues from fertilizers business.
EBITDA for the quarter fell by 9.8% yoy to Rs. 96.1 crore with a corresponding margin expansion of 138 bps. EBITDA margin for the quarter stood at 9%. This margin expansion was aided by favourable movement in inventories.

The PAT for the quarter stood at Rs. 58.7 crore, against loss of Rs.62.4 crore in previous corresponding quarter.

Looking at the full year numbers, we see that revenue slided by 16% to reach Rs.7410.7 crore while EBITDA rose by 1% to 787 crore.

Company reported unadjusted net profit of Rs.434.4 crore, against net loss of Rs.45.6 crore in FY16.

Technical View:

Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd ended at Rs. 116.75, down by 1.65 points or 1.39% from its previous closing of Rs. 118.4 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 119.5 and touched a high and low of Rs. 121.4 and Rs. 114.65 respectively. A total of 1203274(NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The stock traded below its 50 DMA.
