Cabinet Approves Companies Act Amendment

The Cabinet approved the proposal to move amendments to the Companies Act, 2016 that would enable ease compliance requirements and certain other provisions.

The decision was taken by the Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In March last year, the act was introduced in the Lok Sabha and then it was referred to the Parliamentary Panel on Finance. The Committee submitted its report in December, 2016.

Now, the bill will be tabled in Parliament.
