In its bid to promote "Digital India" scheme, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited Kannur SSA has commissioned 40 4G high speed data (Wifi Hot spot centers) in Kannur, Kasargod districts and Mahe region of Kerala.
Talking to news persons here today, Mr Ashok H Kaller, Joint General Manager said the BSNL has also decided to utilise the Central government's Universal Service Obligation (USO) funds to set up 15 more Wifi station in coming days. This would make the highest number of wifi staitons in Kerala under one SSA. He also said the BSNL 4G WIfi facilities will be used to any phones even from other service providers.
He also said the linking of BSNL Mobile numbers with Aadhaar card numbers will be held at Customer care centers and Franchisee shops up to January 31, 2018 and this facility will be extended to all telephone exchanges and Akshaya Centres within one week.
Mr Ashok said the TRAI has given permission to linking maximum nine mobile numbers to one Aadhar number, so the people should used this chance to change the owner ship name of the mobile number by linking with Aadhar directly with the presence of using mobile phone for getting One time Pass word (OTP). He also said BSNL have 12 Lakh mobile customers and 2.60 lak land phone users under Kannur SSA, in this only around one lakh people are using data in landline phones.
He also said the installation charges of new land line phones, broadband and fibre optic connections has been waived off for one year up to July 2018. As an initiative offer, only Rs 49 would be charged for first six months to new land line connections as an offer to reconnect the old numbers.
He also said more attractive plans to Broad band with high speed of 2Mbps and 4 Mbps is also availed from BSNL along with special packages for 28 and 56 days.
