The 1985 batch IES officer, Mr. Arun Kumar Jha, presently in the cadre has been appointed as Director-General, National Productivity Council, Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry in the rank of Additional Secretary vice Ms. Amita Prasad, IAS (KN:85) on her appointment as Chairperson, Inland Waterways Authority of India.
In last less than 5 years of his career span, Mr. Arun K Jha has served two flagship institutions NIESBUD, which was then used to be under MSME Ministry now it has moved under Ministry of Skill Development and KVIC which is part of Ministry of MSME as Director-General. Mr. Jha through his previous experiences especially in the last ten years have shown a major exposure in the areas of quality and capacity building specially his tenure with KVIC.
National Productivity Council (NPC), a national level organization is designed to promote productivity culture in India. Established by the Ministry of Industry, Government of India in 1958, it is an autonomous, multipartite, non-profit organization with equal representation from employers’ & workers’ organizations and Government, apart from technical & professional institutions and other interests.
