The Association of Physicians of India (API) unveiled a website ‘Cough Xpert’ dedicated to cough-related knowledge and management at its 79th Annual Conference 'APICON' in New Delhi. The “Cough Xpert” website is part of API’s medical initiative supported by Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Limited, a global pharmaceutical company headquartered in Hyderabad, India as a scientific partner. They also unveiled a special supplement issue (JAPI) on “Doxycycline- A versatile antibiotic for diverse conditions.
Cough Xpert Website Launch
The user-friendly website, Cough Xpert is designed to assist Healthcare Professionals in determining cough symptom differentials based on various parameters such as the type of cough, mucus, triggering factors, and accompanying symptoms. The website will also provide information on cough severity scoring, cough sounds, highlights on irrational combinations, a list of CDSCO-approved cough formulations, importance of organoleptic properties, cough physiology, cough related red flags, when to refer patients to specialists, disease-specific weblinks, and patient awareness content. On the other hand, the special issue on Doxycycline acts as practical guide to Healthcare Professionals and delves into Doxycycline use in diverse conditions, featuring sections on its efficacy in treating respiratory, gynaecology, gastrointestinal, and dermatology infections, as well as its antiviral potential. The special issue highlights Doxycycline's role in treating Acute Undifferentiated Febrile Illnesses (AUFI).
This significant unveiling was officiated by API President 2024- Dr. Milind Nandkar, Hon. General Secretary API; Dr. Agam Vora, Editor-in Chief, JAPI- Dr. Mangesh Tiwaskar, and other luminaries of API including Dr. Deepak Talwar. Dr. Snehal Muchhala, Medical Cluster Head, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Limited and other members were also present.
