Gujarat CM Smt. Anandiben Patel expressed satisfaction at the progress of the ambitious Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project on the Thaltej to Vastral section on East-West Corridor and on the APMC to Motera section on North-South Corridor. Presiding over a high-level review meeting, she said that civil work would be completed on time. It was attended by Metro Rail Project Managing Director shri I.P. Gautam, Principal Secretary for Urban Development shri P.K. Parmar, Chief Minister’s Secretary Smt. S. Aparna, Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner Shri Mukesh Kumar and AUDA CEO Shri Atul Gaur. The committee was told that 613 miles have been laid on the 6.5km section from Vastral village to Apparel section in phase-1 of the East-West Corridor. The target is to complete this project by September 2017. The work on the Gyaspur Depot to Shreyas Crossing section of the North-South section had begun in December 2015, in which 154 piles have been laid and work on four stations are on, the committee was told in a meeting. CM Smt. Pate said that the Railways have been paid the lease charges and is providing the necessary co-operation along with the officers of the Metro Rail project. She called for coordination among the officers of Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) formed for the project, the State Government and other Authorities for fast completion of the Kalupur and Gheekanta Metro Stations. As to the progress on the Casting Yard, the committee was told that on an average 120 girders are cast every month. The work on girder launching is simultaneously in progress at two places as is likely to be launched at a third place. The process of issuing tenders for Shreyas to Ranip section is in progress, while that for the 6.5 km underground section is being finalized. The tenders for track signaling and telecommunication system will be finalized shortly, the meeting was told. |
