TESLA Group a.s., a global leader in battery energy storage systems (BESS), and SRAM & MRAM Group, a multinational conglomerate specializing in technology and sustainable development, have signed a landmark multi-billion-dollar agreement to establish 20 giga factories across the world, including seven in India. This strategic partnership is set to revolutionize green energy storage and strengthen global efforts to achieve the Paris Climate Accord’s target of limiting global warming to 1.5°C, with greenhouse gas emissions peaking before 2025 and declining 43% by 2030.

The collaboration will create one of the world’s largest integrated battery manufacturing and storage supply chains for electric vehicles (EVs) and renewable energy systems.

Global Locations

The giga factories will be located in Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Maharashtra (India), Telangana (India), Gujarat (India), Karnataka (India), Andhra Pradesh (India), Uttar Pradesh (India), Madhya Pradesh (India), Jharkhand (India), Texas (USA), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Florida (USA), Oman, Brazil, UAE, Cambodia, Nigeria, and Sydney, Australia. These locations were selected for their renewable energy potential, favorable government incentives, and strong market demand.

Each giga factory will span approximately 500 acres, housing end-to-end battery manufacturing and storage infrastructure, with the potential to create up to 100,000 jobs per facility.

Key Foundation for the Future: This initiative will serve as the key foundation element to enable and expedite the development of an EV Smart City named after Nikola Tesla. Within this city, all major components will be manufactured in a single facility, with the entire ecosystem and supply chain fully integrated. This will allow production of EVs at 10X or greater capacity compared to today’s levels, creating a seamless environment where innovation, manufacturing, and community growth are interconnected.

Roles and Responsibilities: SRAM & MRAM Group will spearhead efforts to secure single-window approvals, grants, subsidies, tax incentives, and strategic local partnerships. TESLA Group a.s. will oversee the design, engineering, and construction of these advanced facilities, ensuring world-class execution.

Leadership Perspectives: This partnership is a monumental step toward a sustainable energy future,” said Nanda K. Bhagi, President of TESLA Group a.s. “By combining our advanced BESS technology with SRAM’s global infrastructure and community development expertise, we are building not just factories, but vibrant ecosystems that will shape the future of clean energy.”

Dr. Sailesh L. Hiranandani, Chairman of SRAM & MRAM Group, stated: “SRAM is proud to collaborate with TESLA Group a.s. on this transformative initiative. Our expertise in technology, healthcare, and global operations will accelerate innovation in renewable energy and biotechnology—creating jobs, driving economic growth, and delivering long-term benefits across 20 nations.”

Impact in India

The seven giga factories planned for India will play a pivotal role in advancing the nation’s commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2070. They will reinforce government initiatives to rapidly expand renewable energy, enhance energy efficiency, and promote hydrogen production. These facilities will cement India’s position as a global hub for clean energy innovation.

A Shared VisionThis historic partnership underscores TESLA Group a.s. and SRAM & MRAM Group’s shared dedication to combating climate change, fostering technological innovation, and building a sustainable future for communities across the globe.
