On 6th September 2022, in Stockholm, Swedish Capital, Senior Vice President IIA Mr. Neeraj Singhal had an important meeting with Mrs. Anita Shukla, Counselor, and Mr. Ramchandra Second Secretary at the Indian Embassy. The main objective of this meeting was to explore the possibilities of exports from India to Sweden and the setting up of joint ventures by Indian and Swedish entrepreneurs. In the meeting, the embassy officials said that Sweden is the second most innovative country in Europe and about 250 small and big companies of Sweden are located in India. Similarly, more than 75 Indian companies are also doing their business in Sweden. It is also the endeavor of the Embassy that bilateral trade between the two countries should be increased by holding B-2-B and G-2-G meetings. Embassy officials also informed that the India-Sweden Innovation Summit (ISIS) is being organized by the embassy on 27 October 2022. Sweden-India Business Chamber (SIBC) is also playing a good role to promote bilateral trade between the two countries.
Mrs. Anita Shukla, Counselor, Embassy of India has assured that if she is apprised about the business interest of the IIA members in Sweden, she will extend full cooperation on behalf of the Embassy to establish their business relations.
Based on the above meeting, the Senior Vice President of IIA in consultation with the National President IIA has decided to implement the following action plan of IIA for the future: -
- IIA Central Office will collect information about the interest of IIA members and send it to the Embassy of India in Sweden.
- Virtual meetings with Swedish entrepreneurs will be organized according to the interest of IIA members. On the basis of these virtual meetings, the business delegation will also be exchanged in each other countries as per the requirement.
- IIA will promote India-Sweden Innovation Summit (ISIS) to the members so that they can be benefited by participating in this summit.
