Indian Industries Association (IIA) and Uganda Embassy in India jointly organized a high level "India-Uganda Investment-Business Meet" wherein IIA Business Delegation under the leadership of National President of Indian Industries Association Mr. Ashok Agarwal participated. Hon'ble Mr. Yoweri Museveni President of Uganda graced the event as Chief Guest. Ambassador Grace Akello- Uganda's High Commissioner to India, Hon Jeje Ododngo, Uganda's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Ntabazi Harriet- State Minister for Trade, Dr. Paul Kyalimpa- Deputy Director General Uganda Investment Authority and Ms Owomugisha Blessing- General Secretary-Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industries were also present.
President IIA in his address at the program said that this visit will act as a major link in promoting bilateral trade between India and Uganda. Keeping in view the resources available in Uganda, the main objective of this delegation is to try to work on the possibilities of setting up industries here. Indian entrepreneurs can find a favourable market for their products in African countries. Those areas that can be exported from Uganda to India will also be worked on and discussed.
A memento was presented by the IIA President to all the honourable officers of Uganda.
During the program, IIA President and Ms. Owomugisha Blessing General Secretary-Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industries signed an MoU for bilateral trade between the two countries and to provide hand holding to micro, small and medium entrepreneurs.
Senior Vice President of IIA Mr. Neeraj Singhal and Chairperson of IIA International Affairs Committee Mrs. Rekha Sharma along with 18 other entrepreneurs also participated in IIA delegation.
