Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles Are Getting Developed in India with International Collaborations

Some Indian and Foreign Automobile manufacturers are taking initiatives to develop Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles, says MoS for Heavy Industries Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar

The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Automobile and Auto Components notified by the Ministry of Heavy Industries provide ‘sales value linked’ incentives on Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles and their components in the range of 13% to 18%.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Heavy Industries Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar  in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.

As per information received from Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), some manufacturers in India have undertaken initiatives to develop prototypes of Hydrogen Fuel Cell vehicles and some of the Global manufacturers in India have also demonstrated Fuel Cell vehicles.

As per information received from SIAM, some companies have already undertaken projects for developing Hydrogen Vehicles.  Two hydrogen refueling stations have also been established, one each at Indian Oil R&D Centre, Faridabad and National Institute of Solar Energy, Gurugram.
