The Training and Placement Department of ITM Vocational University recently organized a series of industrial visits for students across various departments. These visits aimed to provide students with hands-on experience, allowing them to relate their academic knowledge to real-world industrial practices.
Students from the Mechanical Engineering Department Mvisited Feed Milling Tech Pvt. Ltd., Menpura, Gujarat, where they observed advanced machinery like the Hammer Mill, Twin Screw Extruder, CNC Machine, Vertical Milling Machine, and Wire Cut EDM Machine. This visit helped 23 students gain valuable exposure to modern manufacturing technologies and understand the practical aspects of machine operations, accompanied by two faculty members and Training and Placement representatives.
The Mechatronics Engineering Department students visited Grey Matters Robotics Pvt. Ltd. at Makarpura GIDC, Vadodara. The visit focused on 4-Axis Gantry Robots, robotic automation, and their integration in manufacturing systems. The 26 participating students enhanced their understanding of real-world robotics applications through interactive sessions led by industry experts.
From the B. Optometry Department, 20 students visited Shree Narayan Eye Hospital in Tajpura, Halol. They explored clinics such as Oculoplasty, Retinal Evaluation, ND YAG Capsulotomy, and Phacoemulsification OT. The visit enriched their clinical knowledge and offered a practical view of eye care procedures, supported by one faculty and placement representatives.
Meanwhile, students from the Industrial Chemistry Department visited Axalta Coating Systems Pvt. Ltd. at Savli GIDC. B.Sc. and M.Sc. students learned about coating formulations, production processes, QA/QC systems, and packaging operations. This industrial exposure provided a strong link between academic theory and chemical industry applications.
“At ITM Vocational University, we strongly believe in learning beyond the classroom. These industrial visits are not just field trips, they are career-forming experiences that expose students to the evolving demands of their industries,” said Dr. Anil Bisen, Pro-Vost, ITM Vocational University.
