The Draft of Data Protection Bill is Open for Public Opinion

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology sought public comments on the draft Data protection bill.

Recognizing the importance of data protection and keeping personal data of citizens secure and protected, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology constituted a Committee of Experts under the Chairmanship of Justice B N Srikrishna, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India, said an official release.

The Committee of Experts on Data Protection has submitted its report and draft Personal Data Protection Bill, which are available on MeitY website URL: meity.gov.in/data-protection-framework

MeitY solicits comments of General Public on the report and Draft Personal Data Protection Bill by 10thSeptember, 2018.

The comments may be submitted at the Ministry portal www.meity.gov.in
