Sharing is caring!

Telangana government sought the Centre’s intervention on the issue of division of a government company between it and Andhra Pradesh.

The issue concerns the Andhra Pradesh Heavy Machinery and Engineering Limited (APHMEL), a subsidiary of the state-run Singareni Collieries Ltd., according to a release from the Chief Minister’s office.

An expert committee had recommended that APHMEL be passed to Andhra Pradesh in violation of the provisions of AP Reorganisation Act, the release said.

The Telangana Chief Secretary has written a letter to the Union Home Secretary seeking intervention in the matter and setting aside the recommendation, it added.

A separate release from office of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said he would hold a meeting with ministers and officials on the distribution of cheques under the ‘Rythu Bandhu’ investment support scheme’ for farmers tomorrow.
