IILM Lucknow and Indian Industries Associated (IIA) organized a Management Development Programme on “Manpower Retention and Motivation” at IIA Bhawan, Lucknow. The programme was targeted for Micro, Small and Medium Industries (MSME’s).

Dr. Naela J Rushdi (Director, IILM Lucknow): IILM Lucknow is committed to enhancing the quality of professional management education by establishing a regular and active connect with the industry and Mr. Sunil Vaish, President IIA willing to interact with  the highly qualified faculty members at IILM Lucknow take up various assignments wherein the industry and academiccan interact for mutual benefit resulted in organizing this Management Development Programs. Through such MDP, IILM Lucknow endeavours to offer solutions to the real-world corporate challenges faced by the MSME’s, while at the same time IILM faculty would gain insights into the industry which can be used in the teaching-learning process.

Dr. Vibhuti Gupta (Program Director) in her opening remarks said that MDPs help creating a strong foundation for industry-academia sharing of knowledge and developing deeper understanding for both the stakeholders. With such programs the industry personnel get an insight on current national and global management practices, and help them implement effective strategies in their respective organisations. Simultaneously, the faculty learns about the current management problems, offer advice to industry personnel as well as make the students aware about real life situations, thus prepare them to face the corporate world. This MDP is about the challenge faced by the corporates in retaining talent and how effective coaching and mentoring strategies, strategic leadership play important role in retaining and motivating employees.

Dr.Sheetal Sharma Professor & Dean Academics said that discussed how effective talent management strategies leads to organizational effectiveness .She elaborated on importance of Employee retention,myths related to retention and suggested various motivational strategies and innovative techniques for talent retention

Prof Sachin Srivastava Associate Professor at IILM in his presentation said that Competitive scenario, consumer behavior and employee aspirations have changed considerably. In such challenging times leadership has an important role to play, in running the organization.  He explained on the role of Strategic Leaders to achieve the organisational goal effectively from the employees while keeping them satisfied and focused too. He shared examples from Indian Entrepreneurs who have successfully managed to turnaround their businesses profitably.

The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Manmohan Agarwal General Secretary IIA. In this inaugural address Mr. Agarwal said that this progamme on Manpower Retention & Motivation is beginning and more such MDP’s will be organized by IILM Lucknow and IIA in times to come for the benefit of MSME’s.

Before the inauguration of the Programme Mr. D. S. Verma Executive Director IIA introduced participants about IIA MSME Development Center and collaboration between IILM Lucknow and IIA.
