Sharing is caring!

Laying special thrust on the mountainous districts of the Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that work has to be done on the skill development training apart from creating awareness for the vocational courses instead of conventional ones and imparting soft skill training to the youth to help them increase their income.

CM said that skill development and training can prove effective in stopping migration from the hilly districts of the state.

He made the above remarks while holding discussions with a delegation of the Industrial Association of Uttarakhand at the State Secretariat.

He said that the government, administration, educational institutions and industry should work in tandem to push up self-employment opportunities in the state.

Emphasizing on the dialogue between the industry and academic institutions, he said that the district employment offices should not restrict themselves to mere registration of the unemployment.

Rather, he asked the officers to be pro-active and suggested compilation of data pertaining to the special qualification and skills of the unemployed and this information should be provided to the captains of industry and investors, he added.

District employment offices should also do career counseling, he stressed.

It was also decided in the course of meeting that the cluster based hubs should be developed for large-scale production.

The principal secretary, MSME, Manisha Panwar said that 103 growth centers in the state have been earmarked with one lead product each. She added that work is being done in a serious manner on developing the growth centers at the block level.

Further, she added that these growth centers will help in providing employment at the local level and would also play an effective role in halting migration by helping the people to branch out in multiple avenues of livelihood earning.
