Goa Should be India’s Logistics Hub: Goa Minister

Sharing is caring!

Mauvin Godinho, Panchayat Minister of Goa said that there was a need to make Goa major hub for logistics.

Speaking at 3rd conference on Logistics organised by Goa chapter of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) in the city, he stressed on development of logistics as an industry in Goa as it was a non-polluting industry and promised all support from the government.

He also encouraged private sectors to invest and develop logistics in the state.  He also spoke at length about the major infrastructural investments currently being taken up in Goa which included two signature bridges over river Mandovi and Zuari.

Mr Godinho said, ”Logistics is something which is achievable and non-polluting and Goa is the place to do this because you have railways, airways, one airport, second airport coming within three years, inland waterways and port which is also expanding.”

He asked the industry to ponder what was it going to do in the logistics sector instead of thinking what the government was doing.
