Bank of Baroda Receives First Prize Under the Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar Scheme

Bank of Baroda, one of the leading public sector banks, has been awarded the First Prize under the Government of India’s Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar scheme for its outstanding performance in the field of official language for the year 2024–2025. The award was presented by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, at the Hindi Day celebration and the Fifth All India Official Language Conference held on 14 September 2025 at Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar. Bank’s Managing Director and CEO, Dr. Debadatta Chand, received the award on behalf of the bank. Executive Director, Ms. Beena Wahid and Head - Official Language and Parliamentary Committee - Mr. Sanjay Singh were also present on this occasion.

The bank has received the Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar for the fourth consecutive year, including First Prizes thrice and the Second Prize once. Additionally, under the Government of India’s “NARAKAS Rajbhasha Samman” scheme for Town Official Language Implementation Committees, the Town OL Implementation Committee (Offices), Gandhinagar, associated with the bank, received the Second Prize in the ‘B’ linguistic region, and the Town OL Implementation Committee (Banks), Jaipur, received the Third Prize in the ‘A’ linguistic region. Furthermore, 14 Town OL Implementation Committees associated with the bank were honored with the NARAKAS ‘Protsahan Puraskar’.

On this occasion, Dr. Debadatta Chand, MD & CEO of Bank of Baroda, said: “This award reflects the bank’s sensitivity towards its millions of customers who interact in Hindi and other Indian languages and feel more comfortable availing banking services in their native languages. The bank is providing services in Hindi and other Indian languages in its digital channels like mobile banking app ‘Bob World’ and WhatsApp banking. Additionally, the bank ensures availability of transaction-related SMS in Indian languages and offers Indian language options in chatbots, call centers, etc., making it easier for customers to connect with the bank. I believe that by offering services in customers’ mother tongues, we can establish better connect and provide them with the best customer experience.
