Kalpataru supports Killekars' 'Mud Fort Making Competition' Celebrate Heritage Awareness and Environment in Grand Style

Kalpataru, a leading real estate developer, and Killekars, an advocate for the preservation of Maharashtra's historic forts, have paid homage to the region's rich heritage and culture by organising The '2023 Mud Fort Making Competition'. This event, a part of the Thane Smart City initiative, served a dual purpose – engaging housing societies and nurturing environmental consciousness, cleanliness, and efficient waste management within these communities. It also commemorated the 350th anniversary of the coronation ceremony of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the iconic founder of the Maratha Empire.

 

The '2023 Mud Fort Making Competition' was the highlight of this celebration, an inspiring competition that invited students from various Junior Colleges and Schools in Thane and Mumbai to craft miniature replicas of Maharashtra's forts using mud and natural materials. A diverse array of 15 groups, encompassing approximately 150 students, showcased their creativity and talents at the event. Notable participants included children from various re known schools across Thane including Lokpuram Public School, Singhania School, Vasant Vihar School, Euro School, DAV School, special NGO schools for economically disadvantaged children and students from, Chetana College , and Sathye College.

 

Adding an engaging dimension, Anirudha, the Founder of MAWLA, creator of a National Award-Winning Board Game that vividly narrates the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, was present at the event. He captivated the visitors and children with his innovative and creative games.

 

This competition was judged by a distinguished panel of experts, including Amol Jamdare, an IT professional and avid trekker renowned for promoting Maharashtra's forts through exclusive slide shows and co-founder of the YouTube Channel Marathi Kanya.

 

Another highlight of the event was an address by Prakash Bhosale, a senior historian renowned for his work with the fort restoration committee of Maharashtra and his Maratha weapons exhibition. He shared his insights and knowledge about the glorious legacy of Maharashtra's forts and culture.

In addition to the competition, various online contests, including the Smart Society Contest, Essay, Drawing, Rangoli, and Photography contests, were organized to celebrate the 350th anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's coronation. The results of these contests will be announced in the first week of December.
